Coroplast Global | News | 29 Jul 2024 Coroplast builds adhesive tape factory and expands presence

The Coroplast Group is expanding its presence: In Schönebeck (Elbe), a few kilometers south of Magdeburg, Coroplast Tape has begun construction of a factory for special adhesive tapes. The company is also further expanding its activities in Wuppertal.

Wuppertal, July 29, 2024: Coroplast Tape, a division of the Coroplast Group, recently started construction of a factory for special adhesive tapes in Schönebeck (Elbe), a few kilometers south of Magdeburg.

For this purpose, the Wuppertal-based company has acquired an area of more than five hectares, which still offers space for future expansions and construction phases. The investment volume for the first phase is approximately 25 million euros.

"With our new site and production technologies, we want to build up additional product families for other areas of application. The plant in Schönebeck and the production facility in Wuppertal will be linked in a multi-stage process, with final assembly of the materials produced in Saxony-Anhalt taking place at the headquarters," says Group COO Marcus Söhngen.

Parallel to its commitment in Saxony-Anhalt, the Coroplast Group is currently implementing a major building investment program in Wuppertal with a volume of more than 30 million euros. In addition to an IT and digitalization center and a competence center for adhesive tape processing, both in Wuppertal Nächstebreck, this also includes a logistics and shipping center on Heinz-Fangman-Straße in Wuppertal Barmen.

The IT and logistics building is scheduled to go into operation in fall of 2024. The plant in Schönebeck and the converting center in Wuppertal are scheduled to come on stream in the first and second quarters of 2025, respectively.

COO Marcus Söhngen commented: "These major investment projects are an expression of our strategy, which focuses on digitalization, excellence in production and the further development of our product range and technology. Wuppertal, with its limited space, represents rounding off and refining, while Schönebeck, with its potential for industrial development, represents new product worlds on a larger scale.
