Coroplast Global | News Winning team of Formula Green 2017 uses HV- cables made by Coroflex

The 4ze Racing Team from SRM University in India was overall winner of this year’s Formula Green design competition. The students’ all-electric racing car was also equipped with our shielded, silicone-insulated high-voltage cables, which we gave the students to support them in participating in this important contest.

Design Competition for Electrical Racing Cars

In this Indian design competition, teams of students compete against one another in various structural and dynamic disciplines with electrically driven racing cars they have designed and built themselves. This year, not only did the 4ze Racing Team finish as overall winner among the nine participating teams, it was also top in the categories endurance, autocross, acceleration and skid pad.

Around 10 metres of shielded, silicone-insulated Coroflex high-voltage cables are installed in the winning team’s e-racing car. High-voltage and battery charging cables made by Coroflex are internationally considered the technical benchmark and they are installed in the series vehicles of leading automotive manufacturers.

This year the Formula Green, held by the Indian Society of New Era Engineers (ISNEE) for the second time, took place on 29–31 March 2017 at the Kari Motor Speedway in Coimbatore, India. The aim of the competition is to promote students in the development and practical implementation of innovative engineering projects in the field of electric mobility.
